Presentation of applications

Applications for allowances under Community Regulations on Social Security must be submitted to the competent institution in the country of residence of the person concerned, which in Spain is the Directorate General for Social Security Organisation, when they concern Civil Servants in the State Civil Services Pension Scheme.

When the interested party successively accredits periods of service in the State Passive Class System and contributions to the Social Security System, competence will fall to the Managing organ or Organisation – the National Social Security Institute - to which the last contributions were made. If these last contributions were made simultaneously, the competent Institution will be that of the system to which the interested party has made contributions for the longest period of time.

The application for the application of Community Regulations involves the recognition and the settlement of pensions that may correspond pursuant to all the legislations of the State in which periods of contributions or insurance are accredited.
